The explorer shows what the402 has observed about public x402 services, how that evidence affects the current assessment, and whether the provider has claimed the endpoint.
An assessment is not a guarantee. It is the402's current conclusion from the evidence available at a specific time. If the evidence is insufficient, the assessment is unknown.
Endpoint liveness, daily
the402's unpaid sweep sends one request to each probeable indexed endpoint and records whether it answered a well-formed 402 for its own payment address. The cadence follows the answer: often while the endpoint answers, less often once it stops. Endpoints the402 operates, addresses on the sanctions list, endpoints no second source has corroborated and endpoints with nothing the402 can ask unpaid are all excluded. This is that count: the first public dataset, free to download.

How these numbers are defined
- subject
- An x402 endpoint identified by (origin, payTo on Base). the402-operated endpoints are excluded.
- sweep
- One unpaid request at one of the subject's advertised resources, expecting an HTTP 402 whose payment requirements parse and name the subject's payTo.
- answered_valid_402
- Every non-ambiguous sweep that day returned a well-formed 402 for the subject's payTo.
- mixed
- The subject both passed and failed sweeps that day.
- failed
- The subject failed every non-ambiguous sweep that day (no 402, malformed 402, payTo mismatch, 404, 5xx, timeout, TLS/DNS/network error).
- ambiguous_only
- Only ambiguous results that day: an edge challenge page, a redirect, or a 4xx that rejected our argument-free request before the payment layer answered. Never counted as a failure.
- latency
- Measured from a Cloudflare colo to first byte of the response, not from a buyer's location.
Only statements that are NEW or that CHANGED position. A renewal re-signs the same verdict before it expires and is not a change.
The public dispute register: a claimant's contest of what the402 says about their subject, or a complaint recorded against it, with the re-probe it earned and the admin's resolution. Everything but the reviewer's private note is public.
